I ran into a problem that was reported early in Vista’s development. My news feed gadget stopped updating and was stuck on November 30. I don’t kinow why I hadn’t noticed until today but I figured it would just fix itself somehow but it didn’t it. I Googled the term “user_feed_synchronization” and it turns out a few other people have experienced this problem and that its been around since the beta versions of Vista.
Some suggested a command line fix, others a registry fix. I solved my problem by opening IE7, clicking on the Favorites icon and then checking my RSS feeds. I simply refreshed the MSNBC News feed and it worked.
